DESCRIPTIVE STATEMENT
OF POSITION:
- Teach and ensure students learn the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health and Physical Education Frameworks;
- Differentiate instruction for students of all readiness levels, providing individual, small group, and whole-class lessons to learn the framework standards;
- Understand and implement the best practices of teaching and learning;
- Deliver dynamic, high-quality instruction that engages and meets the needs of all learners, including sub-separate adapted classes;
- Develop school initiatives to engage the broader community around physical well-being, wellness, and fitness, including an annual field day event;
- Engage students in both team sports and individual activities, to motivate and excite students while emphasizing the importance of life-long physical activity, social skills, and team work;
- Infuse character education, collaboration, and cooperation into daily instruction;
- Collaborate closely with colleagues inside and outside the classroom;
- Possess a positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to be a team player.
