Position Title: 4th Grade Teacher
Location: Shapleigh School
Reports To: Anne Ellis
Position Start Date: August 26, 2026
Required Certification: General Elementary (020) or certifiable in the State of Maine

The Kittery School District is currently seeking a highly qualified, certified General Elementary teacher to join our 4th grade team at Shapleigh School.
The ideal candidate for this position will hold a valid Maine certification in General Elementary School or be certifiable in the State of Maine, have experience teaching in a Proficiency Based Learning system, and be able to effectively communicate and collaborate as part of a teaching team.
You must submit to a Criminal History Record Check through the State of Maine Education Department.

Directly east of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, across the Piscataqua River at its entrance to the Atlantic Ocean, Kittery is the oldest Township in Maine (Inc. 1647). It was named after the manor of "Kittery Court" at Kingswear in Devon, England. A four season community with weather moderated by the gulf current influence. Kittery is within an hour's drive of the cultural, sporting and outdoor activities of Boston, Portland, and the White Mountains.
