Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe EL Classroom Aide assists teachers in creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment for students. They play a crucial role in classroom management, administrative tasks, and supporting students' educational needs.
REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Associate's Degree or 48 semester hours of college coursework is preferred.
Prior experience in working with high school students preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and/or registrations as applicable to position duties and responsibilities and/or as required by the Board of Directors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide support to students during educational activities.
- Help maintain a clean and orderly classroom.
- Monitor and manage classroom behavior.
- Support special needs students with their personal care needs, if required.
- Perform administrative tasks such as preparing materials and equipment for lessons.
- Provide feedback on student progress to teachers and parents.
- Help organize school events and outings.
- Ensure the safety of students in the classroom and on school grounds.
- Assists the Administration in the support of Students with a designation of Limited English.
- Assist in implementing the EL Plan
- Assists teachers with the integration of?hardware/software into the learning environment.
- Assist in obtaining interpreter/translation services.
- Assist in administering assessments of language proficiencies.
- Must provide in-class instruction as directed by teacher utilizing native language support(s).
- Assists students and staff with assessment program.
- Supervises students in an orderly, consistent manner.
- Provides one-on-one or small group support to students in academic and career/technical content areas.
- Communicates student progress to staff as applicable.
- Maintains daily attendance records as needed.
- Completes all reports and students' documentation as applicable.
- Follows and adheres to all policies and practices regarding confidentiality.
- Participates in training programs as required or needed.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology utilized by the district.
- Acts professionally and as an effective role model for students.
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
- Must satisfy all job related attendance requirements.
LOCATION: Diamond Oaks Career Campus
HOURS: Monday through Friday; Approximately 27.5 paid hours per week
SALARY: $22.25 per hour (Medical/Dental Benefits not included)
$23.46 per hour with ESEA Qualification (Medical/Dental Benefits not included)
