Position Overview:- Liberty High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Health Teacher to join our dynamic team for students in grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering an engaging health curriculum that promotes students' physical, mental, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and district curriculum for health education.
- Teach a variety of health topics, including nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and personal wellness.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes respect for diverse perspectives.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and classroom activities while providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate health education into other subjects and promote a holistic approach to student wellness.
- Organize and participate in activities to promote health awareness and healthy lifestyles.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and health resources.
- Stay current with health education trends, best practices, and state and national health standards.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or credential for the appropriate grade level/subject area.
- Experience in a classroom setting, preferably in a middle/high school environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
Preferred Skills:- Knowledge of educational technology and the ability to integrate it into the classroom.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques to support diverse students.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students and staff for extended periods.
- Capacity to respond to manage student behavior in various situations.
Additional Information- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
