Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintaining a safe play environment, instructing small groups, engaging in activities with kids such as coloring, table games, gym games, puzzle building and reading aloud
* The ability to multi-task and problem solve are essential to this position
* Supervising children while supporting their physical, emotional, and developmental needs, reinforcing and modeling appropriate behaviors
* Assist in planning and carrying out a daily schedule designed to meet the needs of a group of children which includes play, transitions, snack, quiet time and gym time
* The ideal candidate for this position must be sensitive to the needs of individual children and possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with both children and adults. Being a team player is essential!
* Assure that equipment and materials are accessible, appropriate and in good condition
* Perform daily: classroom related cleaning and other maintenance duties as requested.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
* Knowledge of early child development and age appropriate behaviors
* Experience in leading groups of children
* Passing a background check and fingerprinting with ESD 112
Preferred Qualifications:
* Coursework in Human Development or related courses
* CPR Certification
