Qualifications:
- Ohio Teaching License- Professional License Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Reading Endorsement
- Prior experience working with students with reading difficulties preferred
- Alternatives to the listed qualifications considered
- Take and pass KPEERI (Knowledge and Practice Examination for Effective Reading Instruction)
- CERI (Center for Effective Reading Instruction) credentials
- Determines reading and skill deficiencies
- Provides instruction in the areas of need
- Progress monitors academic progress and communicates progress to parents
- Formative and summative skills testing of students
- Supports classroom learning by communicating with classroom teacher
- Educated parents on how to support student with reading
- Participate in conferences about students
- Assesses students as needed and supports school with testing as permissible
