Job Description Qualifications:- Must hold a New Jersey Theater teacher certificate.
- Must hold a masters degree in theater arts or theater design & technology.
- Have excellent experience in teaching and working with high school students.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the content field and describe ways in which the content can be organized into lessons for high school students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with staff and families.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues in and out of the Department of Fine & Performing Arts
- Demonstrated knowledge of theater pedagogy appropriate for high school
- Develops and administers Drama classes consistent with school district goals and objectives
- Arranges opportunities for students to present performances both during and after school hours
- Plans, rehearses, and directs students programs for the school and community
- Ability to plan drama trips and performances. Build partnerships with community members, theatre companies and colleges; coordinate after school practices for performances
- Develop a dynamic curriculum that fosters a love of theater and the arts and builds student empathy, creativity, and analytical skills
- Develop daily lessons that produce a high level of student engagement in a student-centered environment
