Position: Full-Time, Salary and Benefits as per MEA Negotiated Agreement
Start Date: 2026/2027 School Year
Reports To: Principal
Required Qualifications:- Valid Ohio Integrated English/Language Arts (Grades 7-12) teaching license. Teaching Field- English/Language Arts Education
- Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent development and effective instructional strategies.
- Ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning.
- A clear BCI/FBI record.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging standards-based instruction aligned with Ohio's Learning Standards for English Language Arts.
- Develop and implement lessons that promote student growth in reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom environment that supports student learning and well-being.
- Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures and use assessment data to guide instructional decisions.
- Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades.
- Differentiate instruction and implement appropriate accommodations and interventions to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Foster student engagement through the use of instructional technology, collaborative learning opportunities, and evidence-based teaching practices.
- Encourage students to develop strong communication skills, independent thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for literature and learning.
- Establish and maintain effective classroom management procedures that promote a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with students, parents/guardians, administrators, counselors, and support staff regarding student progress and concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum, analyze student achievement data, and support school improvement initiatives.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities and engage in continuous professional growth to enhance instructional effectiveness.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, professional development activities, and other school-related functions as required.
- Support and implement district policies, administrative procedures, and Board of Education regulations.
- Serve as an advisor, mentor, or sponsor of student activities as assigned.
- Perform supervisory duties as assigned, including study halls, lunch duty, hall monitoring, and other student supervision responsibilities.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and sensitive information in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Mogadore Local Schools.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
