Job Title: Pre-KindergartenTeacher
Location: Agape Life Christian Academy, Pickerington, OH
Reports To: Principal
Position Overview:
Agape Life Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team for the 2026/27 school year. Our school has an academic school year of September through mid-May, 8:00-4:00, Monday-Friday, and approximately six weeks off surrounding major holidays throughout the year. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in early childhood education and a commitment to promoting the spiritual, social, and academic development of young children. As a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Agape Life Christian Academy, you will play a vital role in creating a Christ-centered, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can develop their academic and spiritual potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate the Abeka curriculum and integrate Christian teachings, with a focus on developing early literacy, numeracy, social, emotional, and spiritual skills.
Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and positive behavior.
Foster a Christ-centered environment, integrating biblical principles and teachings throughout daily activities, including prayer, scripture, and Christian songs.
Provide individualized attention and care to students, recognizing each child's unique learning style and needs, and developing strategies to support them.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and collaborating with colleagues to track development.
Promote positive social interactions, encouraging children to share, cooperate, and respect one another following Christian values.
Prepare and organize classroom materials and activities that are age-appropriate and aligned with curriculum objectives.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and discussing any concerns or successes.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a supportive learning community and ensure the overall success of the program.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continually grow in teaching practices and deepen your understanding of early childhood education.
Qualifications:
A strong commitment to Christian values and the mission of Agape Life Christian Academy.
Previous experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with children in a positive and supportive manner.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to sit on the floor with children and engage in activities.
Ability to supervise and monitor children both indoors and outdoors.
