Facilitator: Work Based Learning
This posting creates a pool of candidates for future positions that may become available.JOB SUMMARYResponsible for locating, developing, implementing and coordinating student internship programs for assigned schools. The position will support students, parents, school administration, and business and community groups.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Collaborates with business partners to cultivate new internship and apprenticeship opportunities.
- Works with business partners and AACPS stakeholders to establish plans for long term growth of Internship and Apprenticeship programs.
- Visits internship/apprenticeship work sites to ensure a safe working environment, a committed mentor, and the rigor and relevance of the internship.
- Supports internship/apprenticeship mentors, students, and parents by maintaining student hours, comments and concerns weekly through the AACPS internship portal.
- Collaborates with teachers and school administration to identify and prepare students for a successful internship/apprenticeship, including readying students to actively use the AACPS Internship Portal.
- Facilitates creation of all necessary internship documents, i.e. quarterly evaluations, student/parent/mentor agreements, MSDE survey and other related internship activities.
- Prepares and submits monthly summary reports from internship portal.
- Monitors the Registered Sex Offender website and takes appropriate action as needed.
- Communicates student progress and concerns monthly to school administrators, school counselors, and other associated stakeholders as needed.
- Serves as a liaison with Advanced Studies and Programs Office and Business Education offices as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education- Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
Experience- Three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience. required; and
- One (1) year experience in building business partnerships. required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics- Demonstrated ability in working with public school personnel and business community members.
- Proficiency with software programs, i.e. Internship web portals.
- Knowledge of current trends and research in the field on internships, apprenticeships, and careers.
- Ability to work collaboratively in the design, implementation and evaluation of a student-based programs.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with diverse communities and develop outreach strategies to encourage parental involvement in student learning.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and engage diverse parents/guardians with varied communication styles, levels of skill and experience to support their child's education experience.
- Demonstrated ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
Licenses and CertificationsEmployee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
- Upon hire, educator certificate/license issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required.
- Hold or be eligible for professional educator certificate/license issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) preferred.
- Within 2 years, obtain Work-Based Learning endorsement issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required.
