School Nurse

(37.5 hours/week - 200 days/year)

Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for school nurse positions that may become available within our division for the 2026-2027 school year.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The School Nurse will assist the Lead Nurse in the organization, administration, and implementation of school health services and will function as a contributing member of the school health team

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse or a licensed professional nurse in Virginia
  • One year of nursing experience
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
  • Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with other team members
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous experience in public health or general nursing, preferably in school nursing or community health nursing with children

Salary: LPN - $42,788.31 - $73,453.01 annual

RN - $44,927.67 - $77,126.71 annual

(Salary may change due to 2026-2027 budget considerations)

FLSA: Exempt
