Lead Childcare Aide - Before and After School

What You Need:

The Child Care Lead Aide is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students in the before and after school program. This role includes leading activities, supporting student development, and collaborating with staff and families to ensure a positive experience for all participants.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including academic support, recreation, and enrichment opportunities
  • Provide a safe, structured, and welcoming environment for all students
  • Supervise students during program hours, including transitions, snacks, and outdoor play
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
  • Maintain accurate attendance and program records
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student participation and behavior
  • Support and guide program staff to ensure consistency and quality of care
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and licensing requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces
  • Performs other such duties as may reasonably be assigned

Preferred Skills/Certification
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, child development, or related field preferred
  • Previous experience working with school-age children required
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Ability to work successfully with students, staff, administrators, and families
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible, dependable, and collaborative
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
