You'll play a vital role supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them grow, succeed, and feel supported in the classroom. This position starts the beginning of the 26-27 school year.
What You'll Do- Registrars, schedules, and orients new students to school.
- Maintains student records and protects confidentiality.
- Guides students through the development of educational, career, and social goals.
- Counsels individual and/or small groups of students with presenting concerns.
- Initiates and processes referrals to appropriate special programs and services within and outside of the district.
- Participates in the coordination of the buildings standardized testing program.
- Consults and conferences with parents/guardians, staff, administrators, outside agencies and others to enhance ongoing work with students.
- Participate in educational team meetings.
- Provides information about tutors, summer school, and alternative educational programs.
- Participates in the student support system of the district.
- Assist students evaluate career interest and choices.
- Assist in the preparation of referrals for multidisciplinary evaluations.
Qualifications- Graduate of accredited college or university.
- Master's degree required
- Valid PA School Counselor PK-12 Certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm, patient, and encouraging approach when working with students.
- Desire to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, families, and students.
