The Vice President of Talent Management is a strategic enterprise leader responsible for designing and advancing a comprehensive talent strategy that drives organizational performance, leadership effectiveness, and mission impact across the YMCA movement nationwide. The majority of this role is dedicated to supporting local YMCAs across the country, which operate independently to serve their communities. This role will also support Y-USA, the national office of the YMCA, which provides leadership, resources, and strategic direction to the broader movement.
This role leads the Learning and Leadership Development function and partners closely with YMCA leaders across the movement to shape workforce strategy, strengthen leadership pipelines, and foster a culture of accountability, growth, and respect. The Vice President will lead a team of learning and leadership development professionals and deliver integrated, flexible, and scalable solutions across the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, development, performance, succession, and transition.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
12 to 15 or more years of progressive HR leadership experience, including significant experience in organizational development, learning, and leadership development
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide talent strategies and frameworks
Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior leaders in complex, matrixed environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Deep expertise in workforce planning, learning, and leadership development
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into practical, scalable solutions
Demonstrated ability to lead in a federated or multi-entity organizational structure
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of U.S. employment laws and regulatory requirements
Certifications (Preferred)
SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred

Workforce Planning and Organizational Effectiveness
Lead national workforce planning, talent segmentation, and organizational design efforts to align talent capabilities with current and future needs across the movement.
Leadership Development and Learning
Oversee leadership development and learning strategies that build critical capabilities, support career growth, and align with movement-wide priorities.
Inclusive Talent Practices and Equitable Access
Embed fair, consistent, and merit-based talent practices that foster a sense of belonging, promote objectivity, and ensure broad access to development, advancement, and opportunity.
Change Management and Organizational Transformation
Lead national talent strategies that support organizational effectiveness, adoption of new approaches, and workforce transitions across the movement.
Team Leadership and Capability Development
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Learning and Leadership Development team, ensuring alignment with movement priorities and continuous capability growth.
