Greeneview Local Schools is looking for a High School Fall Play Director for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a supplemental position.

The Fall Play Director is responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of the school's fall theatrical production. This role provides artistic leadership while fostering student growth in acting, collaboration, and stagecraft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Select and recommend a play for approval, considering student readiness, school appropriateness, and budget constraints
  • Organize and conduct auditions; cast students in collaboration with production staff as applicable
  • Develop a rehearsal schedule and manage all rehearsals leading up to the performance
  • Direct student actors in character development, staging, blocking, and performance techniques
  • Collaborate with technical staff (set design, lighting, sound, costumes, props) to ensure cohesive production elements
  • Supervise and coordinate assistant directors, student leaders, and volunteers as needed
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, and administration regarding schedules, expectations, and updates
  • Ensure adherence to district policies, including student supervision, safety procedures, and facility use
  • Manage the production budget in coordination with administration
  • Secure performance rights and ensure compliance with copyright laws
  • Oversee technical rehearsals and performances, including evening and weekend commitments
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants
Qualifications
  • Experience in theater production, directing, or related field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of acting techniques, stage direction, and production processes
  • Ability to manage large groups of students and maintain organization across a multi-week production
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to student development and extracurricular engagement
