Job Description WAYLAND PUBLIC SCHOOLSEMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY2026-2027 SCHOOL YEARJOB POSTINGTitle: Part Time Occupational TherapistPosition Summary: Wayland Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This position focuses on providing evidence-informed, school-based services that empower students to achieve their academic and functional potential within the educational environment. The successful candidate will provide evaluation, consultation, and direct intervention services for students ranging from Preschool through Grade 12. Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): - Evaluations & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, including task analysis and specialized assessments for sensory processing and motor skills.
- IEP Development: Participate as a core member of the IEP team to develop measurable goals and objectives tailored to student needs.
- Direct Intervention: Deliver individual and group services, utilizing both "pull-out" and "push-in" (Grid B) models to facilitate skill progression.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other related service providers (SLPs, PTs, Psychologists) to generalize skills across school settings.
- Consultation: Provide professional guidance to classroom staff regarding environmental modifications and accommodations, such as those for dysgraphia or sensory regulation.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning opportunities, including district-wide "Super Wednesdays" and regional "Job-Alike" collaborative groups.
Qualifications:- Education/Licensure: B.S. or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Experience: Previous experience working with school-aged children is highly preferred.
- Cultural Competency: Experience with diverse populations and a strong commitment to Wayland's goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Professionalism: Strong communication skills and the personal characteristics necessary to serve as a positive role model for students.Education and Experience: - Advanced Degree: B.S. or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- DESE Licensure: Active Occupational Therapist license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Work Schedule - 2 days per week (7:45-3:15)
