What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; Master's degree in Special Education preferred
Massachusetts DESE license in Special Education (or eligibility for licensure)
Massachusetts Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Teacher Endorsement (or willingness to obtain)
Demonstrated experience writing and implementing high-quality, legally compliant IEPs for students with moderate to severe and/or complex disabilities
Strong working knowledge of IDEA, state special education regulations, and the IEP process including transition planning
Experience with structured teaching methodologies, visual supports, AAC, and evidence-based strategies for students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities
Experience working alongside BCBAs and implementing behavior intervention plans with fidelity
Experience supervising, directing, and building the capacity of paraprofessionals and instructional aides
Comfort with systematic data collection and using data to drive individualized instructional decisions
Experience working with English Language Learners and students across a range of disability categories
A collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trust with families, colleagues, and students across a wide range of needs and backgrounds
Patience, persistence, creativity, and a deep belief that every student - regardless of the complexity of their needs - belongs fully in our community and is capable of growth and high-quality work
