Description: Maintenance Engineer II, 1 FTE
Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer II is a mid-level skilled maintenance role responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and operational tasks across district facilities.
The position supports building structure, plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, small engine repair, custodial equipment maintenance, and fleet vehicle preventive maintenance.
Maintenance Engineer II works with increased independence compared to Maintenance Engineer I and provides technical support to ensure safe, functional, and reliable learning environments.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in building operations, maintenance, and construction.
Knowledge of basic electrical systems and general building trades.
Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, acids, fertilizers, lime, paint, salt, adhesives, cleaning fluids, and liquid tar.
Knowledge of equipment such as trucks, vans, dump trucks, trailers, tractors, bobcats, forklifts, snow blades, salt spreaders, mowers, trimmers, blowers, hand/power tools,
ladders, backhoe, man lift, MIG/STICK welders, cutting torch, electrical testers, Hilti drills, gauges, sprayers, recovery machines, vacuum pumps, aerators, ditch diggers, and snakes.
General knowledge of OSHA standards related to maintenance work.
Basic computer skills using email and work order systems.
Working Conditions: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week and 260 days per year.
Per salary schedule at Lakota, starting at $23.26 per hour, based on verified previous experience.
