REPORTS TO: MDL Kindergarten Principal

PURPOSE:

Under general supervision, provides administrative and clerical tasks to the kindergarten principal to ensure effective, efficient and curteous operation of the office.

KEY PROJECTS/RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

Greet and assist parents, staff, students and visitors by answering questions, completing forms, explaining letters or procedures, and setting up meetings.
Provide secretarial support in terms of correspondence, reports, and newsletters for the principal.
Request coverage for teacher and support staff absences for professional development, personal and vacation days.
Process all requests for records including public, private and charter schools.
Create, code and prepare all activity vouchers and on-line purchase orders throughout the school year and monitor building budget activity.
Establish and maintain filing system for student records.
Ensure the safety and security of all students and staff in the building through screening procedures, registering visitors, and activating alarm systems.
Manage and direct all mail for the building staff.
Manage deposits, petty cash for activities accounts, field trip monies, etc. and submit to District Office.
Conduct inventory of school supplies and maintain adequate levels for the school and office.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the building principal.

REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma, highly proficient and comfortable with technology and software, excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task effectively, proven work record of excellent attendance and performance. Successful candidates must present recent clearances for Act 34, 114, 151, and 168.

Previous School District employment preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE: This is a 260 day/year position with a 40-hour work week.
