Summary:

The Coordinator will serve as an instructional leader supporting the implementation of high-quality K-5 Literacy and Social Studies curriculum, instruction, assessment, and instructional practices across the district. This role works collaboratively with the Elementary Literacy Supervisor to lead and manage key district initiatives, oversee projects and deliverables, and provide strategic support to schools and district teams in strengthening Tier 1 instruction and student achievement.

Key responsibilities include curriculum development and implementation, instructional resource design, assessment and data analysis, instructional coaching, direct school-site support, cross-department collaboration, and the planning and facilitation of professional learning for teachers, coaches, and administrators.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate deep knowledge of K-5 literacy and social studies instructional systems, including curriculum alignment, standards-based instruction, assessment practices, intervention supports, and effective instructional strategies. Strong organizational, communication, project management, and collaboration skills are essential, along with the ability to lead multiple initiatives while supporting district priorities and a guaranteed and viable curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Degree in educational leadership, administration/supervision, or related field preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in education or project management related field, with two (2) years of related management or supervisory experience preferred.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Educational Leadership, School Principal, or Administration and Supervision preferred.

Language Skills: Reads and interprets general business and professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Writes reports, correspondence, and manuals. Effectively presents and responds to questions from managers and the public.

Mathematical Skills: Calculates figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Applies concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of relevant and current computer software programs.
