K5 Computer Teacher Job Description

Position Title: K5 Computer Teacher
Reports To: School Administration
Salary Range: $40,000$45,000
Employment Type: Full-Time
Certification Required: No Teaching Certification Required

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic and engaging K5 Computer Teacher to provide foundational computer instruction to elementary students. This position involves traveling to classrooms throughout the school day to teach age-appropriate technology and computer skills. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with children, skilled in classroom management, and comfortable using a variety of technology tools and devices.

Responsibilities

• Teach basic computer and technology skills to students in grades K5
• Travel between classrooms to deliver engaging technology instruction
• Create interactive, hands-on lessons that encourage student participation and learning
• Teach foundational skills including:
  • Keyboarding and typing
  • Basic computer operations
  • Internet safety and digital citizenship
  • Google Slides and other Google Workspace tools
  • Introductory presentation and technology skills
• Integrate educational technology into lessons in a fun and age-appropriate manner
• Manage student behavior effectively and maintain a positive classroom environment
• Troubleshoot and assist with basic technology and device issues
• Collaborate with teachers and administration to support student learning
• Maintain organization and care of technology equipment and materials

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong classroom management and behavior management skills
• Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons for young learners
• Experience with:
  • Google Slides
  • Typing instruction
  • Educational technology tools and devices
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt lessons for different grade levels and learning needs
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work collaboratively

Preferred Skills

• Experience teaching technology or computer skills
• Familiarity with Chromebooks, tablets, and classroom technology
• Creativity and enthusiasm for making learning fun and interactive

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move between classrooms throughout the day
• Ability to lift and transport light technology equipment as needed
