Summary: Manages, coordinates and collaborates with Information Systems Managers, Systems Engineers and CMS clients to ensure that CMS technologies achieve desired business and instructional objectives in accordance with the Strategic Plan goals. Offers leadership and project management to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the information systems that support all initiatives set forth by the district. Provides senior level remote and onsite technical expertise for servers, networked systems, operating system, software applications, wireless data, closed circuit systems, network copiers, voice/video systems, Smart devices, printers and interactive whiteboards for all CMS office and school locations (211 sites, 57,000+ computers/devices, 190 supported software titles). Coaches, mentors and advises Technology contacts and school based staff on basic troubleshooting steps, CMS support procedures, best practices and system maintenance technology needs, builds awareness, meets computing objectives and establishes project plans and timelines to maximize operations and prevent system failures.

Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)
Coordinate technical tasks of all information systems managers and will manage assigned information systems managers with responsibilities for the entire network, to include packaging software for deployment, creating images for all CMS devices and an increased focus on security.
Perform on-site and remote troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution for servers, networked systems, operating systems, computer hardware, software applications, wireless voice and data, closed circuit systems, network copiers, network components, printers, Smart devices, IP telephony, interactive media devices and miscellaneous peripherals. Respond to priority 1 (urgent) trouble tickets or Systems Engineer requests to provide crisis management to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of all CMS systems.
Manage, plan and implement technology projects involving district-wide computers, interactive media devices, printers, Smart devices, software installations, etc. to promote student achievement and continuously meet Strategic Plan goals.
Create, test, package and deploy disk images and software packages for multiple desktops and laptop models for all CMS departments.
Conduct testing of software and hardware. Develop documentation for the operational improvement of technology throughout the district.
Install software, upgrades, and patches and create utilities to ensure maximum functionality and availability to CMS servers and networking equipment.
Mentor Systems Engineers through training and on-site, remote or phone support.
