Job SummaryTo serve high quality, nutritious, appealing food in a clean and pleasant environment by food service professionals who care about the health and welfare of children.
Qualifications:- High school diploma
- Prior food service experience preferred
- Maintain good health and physical condition
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:- Prepares food to maintain nutritive value and produce an attractive, good tasting product
- Uses standardized recipes, production records, thermometers, and scales to insure that quantities are prepared and served safely and in accordance with meal pattern portions
- Follows safety and sanitation procedures as specified by the manager
- Uses and maintains equipment safely and efficiently
- Completes work assignments as scheduled by the manager including food preparation, serving line setup, serving students, food storage, and regular cleaning assignments
- Assists manager in carrying out the standards of the state and federal regulations, and policies of the school board
- Serves in a courteous manner
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and team cooperation during routine daily tasks
- Recognizes meal pattern portions and choices and conduct meal count procedures when needed
- Works with calculator and computer needs
- Participates in training activities and relate training to personal health and job
- Demonstrates knowledge that nutrition has a direct relationship to the growth and development of children
- Reports low inventory, need for utensils, and problems with equipment to the manager
- Performs other duties as assigned
