School Counseling Secretary

Job Description

Holliston High School is looking for an organized and personable School Counseling Secretary to join their team. This central role serves as a vital point of contact for students, faculty, and the community, ensuring the smooth daily operations of the counseling department through scheduling, communication, and meticulous data management.

Responsibilities:

Calendar & Communication Management:

• Maintain school counselors' schedules by booking student appointments and meetings.
  
• Answer phone calls and serve as a helpful point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors.

Event Coordination:

• Organize and manage Advanced Placement (AP) test administration.
  
• Coordinate department milestones including awards nights and college fairs.

Student Support & Liaison Services:

• Maintain student enrollment data and the school honor roll.
  
• Coordinate scholarship opportunities and community involvement programs.
  
• Act as the primary liaison to the online collaborative program.

Administrative Operations:

• Manage department mailings and maintain student records and data.
  
• Perform other administrative and supportive responsibilities as they arise.

Requirements:

• Strong interpersonal skills
  
• Strong writing and editing skills
  
• Strong technical skills
  
• Spreadsheet and database experience preferred
  
• Ability to work and communicate positively with students, parents and staff

The check will require you to pay a fee of $55 if you hold an Educator's License, or $35 if you are an unlicensed employee. In addition to the national background check, a satifsfactory Massachusetts Criminal Record Check (CORI) is required.
