W.E.B. Du Bois Regional Middle SchoolRequirements: Massachusetts Teaching Certificate: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PK - 8 or 5-12). College degree in the general area in which the teacher is assigned.Qualifications:Demonstrated success in working with, and developing appropriate programming for, students with emotional disabilities including:
- Planning and delivery of research-based instruction in the following areas: academic, social/emotional/behavioral, executive functioning, and self-advocacy
- Development and implementation of behavior intervention plans, incentive plans, and data collection methods
- Expertise in trauma informed care in the school setting
- Assessment of student growth and progress using a data-based approach
- Working with site-based and community-based intervention teams
- Communication with students, parents, staff and community members
- On-going coaching, training and modeling with the adult support team working in the program
- Lead weekly after school meetings for program staff
Demonstrated ability to provide the full continuum of special education services (full inclusion, partial inclusion and substantially separate) to students in the program based on their individual needs. Demonstrated success in co-teaching and collaboration with general educators, special education teachers, and related service providers including the ability to adjust, modify and develop appropriate programming. Other qualifications as established by the District.
