Job Description
Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School
Sturbridge, MA | Part-Time | Minimum 2 days on-site per week
Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School is seeking an experienced and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in a part-time role based at our Sturbridge campus. We are looking for a candidate who brings clinical expertise, strong evaluation skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, and we welcome all candidates who reflect the cultural and linguistic diversity of our community.
Who We Are
Old Sturbridge Academy (OSA) is an EL Education school working in partnership with Old Sturbridge Village, providing students with rigorous, real-world learning experiences in a supportive and nurturing environment. Our students don't just read about history and science - they live it, right on the grounds of one of the most extraordinary living history museums in the country. We are distinguished by four key elements of EL Education: a commitment to community, a commitment to high-quality work, a commitment to real-world applications, and a commitment to imagination, exploration, and immersion. At OSA, we believe we are crew, not passengers - and every member of our team shows up fully for our students and each other.
We want to be honest with prospective candidates: this is energizing, demanding work. Our school day is longer than a traditional district schedule, our expectations are high, and we ask everyone on our team to go beyond the boundaries of a job description when students need it. You will be carrying a direct service caseload, managing a full evaluation and IEP workload, and supervising an on-site SLPA - all while becoming a trusted member of the OSA crew. If that excites you, you'll fit right in.
Schedule and Presence
This is a part-time position. The ideal candidate will be on-site at OSA for a minimum of 2 consistent days per week, with additional time as needed for evaluations, IEP meetings, and SLPA supervision. Specific scheduling will be determined collaboratively based on caseload needs and candidate availability.
What You'll Do

•Administer, score, and interpret standardized and non-standardized assessment tools across areas including articulation, language processing, fluency, voice, and social communication
•Write clear, thorough, and legally compliant evaluation reports that meaningfully inform IEP development and educational planning
•Participate in eligibility determination meetings, presenting evaluation findings to families and teams with clarity and cultural sensitivity
•Conduct screenings to identify students who may need further evaluation
IEP Development and Service Delivery
•Develop individualized, measurable IEP goals that reflect each student's strengths, needs, and educational context
•Provide direct speech and language services to students in individual and small group settings
•Implement and monitor IEPs with fidelity, adjusting services and goals based on ongoing data and student progress
•Participate in and contribute to IEP meetings as the speech and language expert for each student's team
•Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records and documentation in compliance with state and federal requirements
SLPA Supervision
•Provide clinical supervision to the on-site SLPA at OSA
•Design treatment plans and session activities for the SLPA to implement, ensuring services are delivered consistently and with fidelity
•Review SLPA session data regularly and use it to inform ongoing planning and adjustments
•Provide regular feedback, coaching, and professional support to the SLPA
•Maintain supervision documentation in compliance with Massachusetts licensure requirements
Collaboration and Consultation
•Serve as a resource and thought partner to special education teachers, classroom teachers, and instructional aides on speech and language development and communication strategies
•Collaborate with the special education team and other student support staff to ensure coordinated, student-centered support for students with overlapping needs
•Support the carry-over of communication strategies across the school environment by building staff capacity and knowledge
•Participate in student support team meetings, crew meetings, and other collaborative planning processes
Family and Community Engagement
•Build authentic, trusting relationships with families across the full range of linguistic and cultural communities represented at OSA
•Communicate proactively and compassionately with families about their child's speech and language development, evaluation results, and IEP progress
•Provide guidance to families on how to support communication goals at home, offering culturally and linguistically responsive strategies
•Use interpretation and translation support as needed to ensure every family is fully informed and included
What You Bring
•Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
•Massachusetts licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility for licensure)
•Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, or Clinical Fellowship eligibility
•Experience conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations in a school setting
•Strong IEP writing skills and working knowledge of IDEA and Massachusetts special education regulations
•Experience providing direct speech and language services to children across a range of ages, needs, and proficiency levels
•Experience supervising or mentoring SLPAs or Clinical Fellows preferred
•Experience working with English Language Learners and students with IEPs in diverse school settings
•Bilingual proficiency strongly preferred - candidates who speak Spanish, Portuguese, or another language represented in our school communities are especially encouraged to apply
•Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, teachers, and clinical colleagues
•Flexibility, professionalism, and a genuine desire to be an active, contributing member of the OSA crew
