JOB SUMMARY
Operates a delivery vehicle and performs a variety of manual tasks and some clerical tasks for warehouse operations. Responsible for proper receipt, storage and control of such materials, supplies, furniture, tools, and equipment at the warehouse facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Loads, unloads, and delivers and/or picks up materials, supplies, furniture, tools, equipment, and related items to designated locations.
  • Fills requisition orders by counting out proper quantity of items and charges materials to work orders. Packs and checks orders to ensure all available stock is assembled for delivery.
  • Receives, unloads, unpacks, and stocks supplies, equipment, and materials in proper location inside warehouse.
  • Operates various equipment for moving stock such as pallet jack, electric pallet jack, forklift, and power tailgate.
  • Works with the Property Control Manager to deliver usable furniture and equipment after school administration makes selection.
  • Maintains vehicle in a clean and proper operating order and storage sites in neat, clean, and safe order.
  • Participates in the snow removal program.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.

Experience
  • Three (3) years warehouse and/or logistics experience and required;
  • One (1) year delivery driving experience operating vehicles of one-ton size or larger preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the applicant to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
  • Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations and the precautions necessary to prevent accidents.
  • Knowledge of the operation of power industrial forklifts, pallet trucks and related equipment, including occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Ability to learn AACPS building and school locations and routes.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
  • Ability to employee business technology tools (e.g. E-mail, AACPS Intranet, electronic benefits enrollment tool, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
  • Satisfactory score on any test required.

Licenses and Certifications
Employee must retain active licenses, certifications, and enrollment as a condition of employment.
  • Upon hire, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B issued by Maryland or State of Residence Department of Transportation (DOT) required; or
  • Upon hire, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B (Maryland) issued by Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MDOT MVA) required; and
  • Within 30 days, obtain Forklift Safety Training Certificate issued by AACPS or Equivalency required; and
  • Within 30 days, obtain Forklift Operator Certification issued by AACPS or Equivalency required.
  • Proof of a good driving record required.
  • Daily access to reliable transportation.

  • Driving is required to conduct bona fide Board business that is within the scope of employment in this position.
