Summit Academy is the approved public day school of the Amherst-Pelham Regional Schools. The school serves middle and high school students on IEPs with learning and social/emotional challenges. The learning environment is small, structured, and supportive to enable students to access education and make progress towards achieving their goals.

The school is seeking to hire a full time paraeducator to be part of the Team and school community.

This position includes providing direct support and academic instruction to student(s) under the direction of a special education teacher, individually or small group. It may also include supporting students in one or more of the following areas as applicable: social/emotional coping skills, social skills, self regulation with support and direction from the Summit Academy clinical staff.

Experience with or willingness to train in order to

- Effectively work with students to support their academic growth and progress

- Effectively work with students who may require behavioral deescalation techniques and may include physical supports

- Collect data as outlined by students' individual programming and overseen by the teacher
