Technician: Extended Day & Year Support
JOB SUMMARYUnder the supervision of the principal(s) and in collaboration with the Community School Program Manager(s), performs complex logistical support to ensure the smooth operations of Extended Day and Extended Year programming in Community Schools. Assists in the scheduling and advertising of Community School Extended Day and Extended Year programming, helps register students and monitor attendance using approved district platforms, helps process consultant agreements and contracts through Central Office, orders supplies required for programming, assists with payroll for staff working in programming, and helps to complete reports required and necessary regarding extended day and extended year programming. Assists program manager in reconciling budgets related to Academic Enrichment and Academic Support wraparound services for the school program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Establishes and maintains relationships with school administration, Community School Program Manager(s), and district offices; provides assistance and support with items related to Academic Enrichment and Academic Support wraparound services, to include but not limited to processing purchases, maintaining accurate financial reports, processing payroll, assisting with budget and expense reports, and budget allocations.
- Works with the Office of Community Schools to monitor program expenditures. Researches inquiries from Community Schools Program Manager(s) regarding purchasing, budgeting, consultant agreement, and contract development.
- Performs financial/budget management responsibilities, including monthly budget reconciliation and maintaining expenditure justification documentation for department budgets.
- Prepares and participates in the dissemination of reports, surveys, and other Federal, State and local grant requirements.
- Performs Academic Enrichment and Academic Support database management through CASP or other identified systems, including setting up event sessions, registering students, maintaining rosters, and granting teacher access for attendance. Monitors system to ensure accurate recording of student participation. Assist teachers and staff with system navigation where needed.
- Prepares and disseminates advertisements and paperwork related to Academic Enrichment and Academic Support wraparound services.
- Assists Community School Program Manager(s) with website and social media content related to Academic Enrichment and Academic Support wraparound services.
- Inputs Academic Enrichment and Academic Support afterhours events into Event Manager system.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education- Associate's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience- Three (3) years administrative experience with proven knowledge and application within the related field required;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics- Thorough knowledge of Board of Education and school operations, policies, and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, business English, spelling.
- Ability to maintain confidential and important operating records.
- Ability to exercise initiative, tact, and good judgment in dealing with Board of Education personnel, school administrators and staff, contractors, and/or outside agencies, and the general public.
- Knowledge of Title I law compliance and COMAR regulations in regards to budget and funding approval is strongly encouraged.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).For new permanent secretarial/clerical/technician hires, a minimum score on a preemployment assessment is required
