JOB SUMMARY:

The Floating Secretary: provides clerical, receptionist, and customer service support to assist in the daily operation of the school office. They fill in for staff absences, provides temporary, on-demand support for variouse department in the district. Under the direction of the Building Principal the Floating Secretary performs routine office functions, assists students, staff, parents, and visitors, and provides administrative support to facilitate efficient building operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answer phones with general knowledge of the District
  • Meet and greet visitors, vendors, staff and students
  • Receive and distribute all incoming mail
  • Provide support to other Clerical staff in office
  • Perform secretarial duties including typing and filing
  • Other duties assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed
  • Familiarity with district data information systems (e.g. DASL, Infosnap, etc.)
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must Have High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience using District software applications is a plus
  • Excellent attendance and strong work ethic is a must
  • High level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information
