Qualifications:

• At least 3 years experience in a school setting
  
• Experience working with students with disabilities and/or 504 processes
  
• Working knowledge of the Children's Services Act
  
• Education Minimum- Bachelor's Degree
  
• Certifications-VA Teaching Certificate with endorsement in special education
  
• Required: Working knowledge of special education private day and residential placements and Americans with Disabilities Act.

Responsibilities:

• Case manage all private and residential students with disabilities K-12.
  • Conducts all IEP and eligibility meetings in conjunction with private placements.
    
  • Monitors caseload student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals in the IEPs.
    
  • Develops Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
• Maintain files within the base schools of all outplaced students
  
• Attend transition meetings for students moving between public school settings and private day/residential settings.
  
• Secures placement once private day setting has been agreed upon by the IEP team.
  
• Prepares required paperwork and attends FAPT meetings monthly (including summer months).
  
• Complete CANS assessments required for Special Education outplaced students
  
• Conduct monthly site visits of private day school students.
  
• Maintain communication with families and the private day schools.
  
• Arrange for transportation for outplaced students.
  
• Meets weekly with the team regarding any upcoming students who may be transitioning between placements.
  
• Collaborates with school registrars and private placements to ensure grades and transcripts are updated annually.
  
• Sends monthly attendance to school registrars.
  
• Monitors student progress towards graduation.
  
• Provides professional development relevant to assignment.
  
• Additional duties as assigned within the Department of Special Services.

2026-2027 Salary: TBD

Educational Supplements:

Master's: +7% of base salary
BA + 15: $750

Teacher National Board Certification: $2,000

Doctorate: $2000

Additional Information:

This is an 11-month/220 day position
