SALARY: NC SALARY SCHEDULE + LOCAL SUPPLEMENT
REPORTS TO: SUPERINTENDENT
Madison High School is looking for a dynamic and innovative instructional leader who can articulate and guide a school wide vision for excellence in teaching and learning.
Qualifications:

*Sets school wide vision that will lead students on a path to college and career readiness.
*Relentlessly plans and prioritizes to achieve goals.
*Intentionally prioritizes own time to focus on instructional leadership and teacher development.
*Models expectations for leaders, teachers, and students on school wide practices for a positive school culture.
*Develops a strategic plan to close the gap between the school's current performance and annual goals.
Supervises: All school personnel
Essential Job Functions:
Conceptualizes the mission of the district, broad goals of the school and plans accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the total school programEnsures that the school program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure of the school systemDefines the responsibilities and accountability of staff members and develops plans for interpreting the school program to the community; the principal knows in detail North Carolina's accountability modelProvides activities which facilitate the professional growth of the school staff and enhances the quality of the instructional programIdentifies the annual objectives for instructional, extracurricular and athletic programs of the schoolEnsures that the School Improvement Plan is aligned to district strategic plan and is followed/ reviewed throughout the school yearEnsures that the instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed, along with detailed curriculum pacing guidelines; and involves the faculty and others in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program; the principal provides opportunities for staff participation in the school programEstablishes, implements and evaluates procedures used to carry out the daily routine of the schoolEvaluates student progress in the instructional program by means that include the maintaining of up-to-date student dataSupervises and appraises the performance of the school staff through observation formulas derived for the state of North CarolinaMaintains inter-school system communication and seeks assistance from Central Office staff to improve performanceMaintains good relationships with students, staff and parentsComplies with established lines of authority and promotes school safetyOrients and assists new staff members and new students and provides opportunities for their input in the school programEncourages the use of community resources, cooperates with the community in the use of school facilities, interprets the school program for the community and maintains communication with community membersManages, directs and maintains records on the materials, supplies and equipment which are necessary to carry out the daily school routineInvolves the staff in determining priorities for instructional suppliesOrganizes, oversees and provides support to the various services, supplies, materials and equipment provided to carry out the school programInvolves the community and makes use of community resourcesPerforms other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Superintendent

- School Aministrative experience required
- 3-5 years Teaching experience required
- North Carolina Principal Licensure required
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License required
