Terms of Employment:
  • Responsible To: Associate Principal or Designee
  • Location: Upper or Freshman Campus
  • Level: Safety & Security Level 1
  • Calendar: 177 Day / School-Year Employee (prorated based upon start date)
  • Daily Schedule: Varies based on assignment, typically 10:00 am - 1:30 pm
  • Hours per Day: 3.5 hours per day
  • Benefits: Eligible for paid sick leave. IMRF participation is required if the employee works over 600 hours per year.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Dependable with the ability to take direction
Must be flexible and adaptable to surroundings and situations
Maintain a calm and pleasant demeanor during periods of adversity
Ability to apply initiative when necessary
Strong communications skills to work and develop relationships with students and staff
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Willingness and ability to do light clean up chores that are associated with the position

Responsibilities / Duties:

Must perform all responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with district policy and practices.
Review and become familiar with the fire and disaster procedures for assigned areas.
Provide direct supervision over students in the cafeteria, hallways, etc as assigned.
Follow established office procedures.
Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
Maintain high visibility at all times when supervising in the cafeteria, hallways, and checking student passes.
Work with the building administration, teachers, and students to establish regulations and procedures for students when necessary.
Report student accidents immediately to the Main Office.
Provide written reports of incidents and accidents.
Assist Resource Officers, Security, and Building Administration as needed.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Requires the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to move freely and perform duties in numerous locations throughout the day (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
Ability to occasionally move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting.
