GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Food Service Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations of the school nutrition program. This position serves as the district's primary on-site food service leader and is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating meal production and service, maintaining food quality and safety standards, managing inventory and ordering, and fostering a positive team environment.
The Food Service Supervisor is a hands-on working manager who actively assists in kitchen operations while leading and supporting staff. This individual will work closely with district administration and the Educational Purchasing Council (EPC) Food Service Consulting Program to ensure efficient operations and exceptional customer service for students and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Sciences, Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Business Management, or related field preferred.
• Food service management experience required; school nutrition experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising employees.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships and foster teamwork among staff.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and recordkeeping skills.
• Strong math and inventory management skills.
• ServSafe Certification required or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
• History of reliable attendance and dependability.
• Must pass criminal background checks and be free from communicable diseases.
