Description:
The Executive Director of the Indian River Education Fund (The Fund) serves as the lead strategist for
external investment, partnership development, and intellectual and community engagement. This role
builds and sustains a high-performing development ecosystem that drives measurable impact aligned to
the District Strategic Plan Initiatives: Connected by Community, Fueled by Innovation, and Driven by
Leadership and the Fund's Strategic Priorities: Leadership & Innovation.
Operating with an entrepreneurial mindset, the Executive Director cultivates philanthropic, corporate,
and community partnerships to secure major investments and mobilize the Fund Board as a strategic
engine for resource development and community alignment. The Executive Director is a highly visible
ambassador, capable of advancing complex financial conversations that support high standards for
academic success in a system-driven district. The Executive Director works closely with a Board of
Directors to set organizational direction, manage programs and services, cultivate relationships with
stakeholders, and ensure the organization's financial stability.
Knowledge of local, state, and national policies, which impact all levels of K-12 education. Knowledge
of innovative instructional programs throughout the state. Knowledge of national, state, and district
educational goals and standards. Ability to read, interpret, and implement State Board of Education
rules, School Board policies, and appropriate federal and state statutes. Ability to understand Florida
statutes related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Job Summary:
To strategically lead and scale a high-impact development and engagement system that secures resources,
mobilizes the Fund Board, and builds community partnerships, aligned to the District's strategic initiatives
to drive measurable outcomes and advance student success.
Qualifications:
1. Master's degree preferred; advanced degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit leadership,
business development, communications, or related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, business development, marketing,
or nonprofit leadership preferred.
3. Demonstrated success in securing funding, building partnerships, grant writing, and
achieving measurable revenue targets.
4. Experience working with or supporting a Board of Directors or similar governance structure.
5. Exceptional communication, technology, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
6. Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive strategy and measure impact.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex
initiatives.
8. Experience planning and executing large-scale events, campaigns, or initiatives.
9. Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
10. Knowledge of the education sector and familiarity with Indian River County are desirable.

Salary Information: Administrative. Pay Grade EXEC DIR. Two hundred fifty days worked per year (12 months). FLSA Exempt.
