Description: Maintenance Engineer I, 1 FTE

Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer I is an entry-level, generalist maintenance role responsible for completing daily work orders, supporting higher-level maintenance engineers,

and assisting across multiple trades to ensure clean, safe, and healthy learning and working environments. The position performs routine maintenance tasks, transports mail and supplies, provides

customer service to schools and departments, and supports preventive maintenance activities under supervision.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of safe handling of chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, acids, fertilizers, lime, paint, salt, adhesives, cleaning fluids, and liquid tar.

Knowledge of tools and equipment including trucks, vans, dump trucks, trailers, tractors, bobcats, forklifts, snow blades, salt spreaders, mowers, trimmers, blowers, hand/power tools, ladders, backhoe,

man lift, drills, sprayers, aerators, ditch diggers, and chainsaws.

Basic computer knowledge and skills using email and work order systems.

Some experience with general building maintenance preferred.

Ability to drive a box truck (non-CDL).

Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and productivity.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Working Conditions: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week and 260 days per year.
Per salary schedule at Lakota, starting at $20.15 per hour, based on verified previous experience.
