Primary Job Function:The Reynoldsburg City Schools' Director of K-12 Education is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the district's instructional program by collaborating with the Superintendent, district administrators, principals, teachers, and community stakeholders to improve student achievement and organizational effectiveness. The Director leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional learning, leadership development, and district improvement initiatives to ensure equitable, high-quality educational opportunities and positive outcomes for every student from PreK-12.
Minimum Qualifications:- Master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Ohio Principal or Administrative License
- Minimum of five (5) years successful experience as a building principal or district administrator
- Valid Ohio educator license
- Current OPES 2.0 credential or ability to obtain certification
- Demonstrated leadership in instructional improvement and organizational effectiveness
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supervising and coaching principals and assistant principals
- Experience leading curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning initiatives
- Knowledge of Ohio's Improvement Process, MTSS, Science of Reading, and evidence-based instructional practices
- Experience implementing OTES 2.0, eTPES, and OPES
- Demonstrated success improving student achievement through data-informed leadership
- Experience leading district-wide change initiatives
- Experience working effectively with diverse student populations and communities

Leadership and Instructional Excellence- Provide strategic leadership for district instructional programs aligned with the Board of Education's vision and strategic plan.
- Coach, mentor, supervise, and evaluate principals and assistant principals to strengthen instructional leadership.
- Build leadership capacity through coaching, collaborative problem-solving, and professional learning.
- Conduct instructional walkthroughs, classroom observations, and leadership coaching to improve instructional quality.
- Lead district instructional leadership meetings and principal professional learning.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Utilize multiple measures of student achievement, attendance, behavior, and climate data to guide district decision-making.
- Partner with principals to identify school improvement priorities and implement evidence-based solutions.
- Provide oversight of master schedule development and implementation to maximize instructional effectiveness, equitable student access, and efficient staffing.
- Recommend staffing, scheduling, and organizational decisions to the Superintendent or designee.
- Coordinate implementation of district instructional initiatives across all schools to ensure consistency and fidelity.
Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Student Support- Lead curriculum review, development, implementation, and evaluation across PreK-12.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with Ohio Learning Standards and district priorities.
- Oversee district assessment systems and monitor implementation of balanced assessment practices.
- Support effective instructional practices through coaching, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional needs.
- Collaborate with Special Education, English Learner, Gifted, Career Technical Education, and Student Services departments to improve outcomes for all students.
- Analyze district achievement and accountability data to identify trends and develop improvement strategies.
- Ensure equitable access to rigorous learning opportunities and instructional resources for every student.
Professional Learning and Leadership Development- Design, implement, and evaluate district professional learning aligned with strategic priorities.
- Coordinate leadership development for principals, assistant principals, instructional coaches, and aspiring administrators.
- Support implementation of Ohio's educator and administrator evaluation systems.
- Develop systems that strengthen educator effectiveness and instructional leadership.
- Foster collaborative learning communities focused on improving student achievement.
School Improvement- Lead district continuous improvement planning and implementation.
- Support principals in developing, monitoring, and evaluating School Improvement Plans.
- Assist schools in establishing measurable academic and organizational goals.
- Monitor state and federal accountability requirements and ensure compliance.
- Coordinate district improvement initiatives and evaluate program effectiveness.
School Climate and Organizational Leadership- Foster safe, inclusive, equitable, and student-centered learning environments.
- Promote positive school culture through collaborative leadership and shared accountability.
- Support initiatives that strengthen student engagement, attendance, and well-being.
- Encourage innovation while maintaining high expectations for academic excellence and operational effectiveness.
Family and Community Engagement- Build collaborative partnerships with families, community organizations, higher education, and business partners.
- Communicate district instructional priorities and student achievement initiatives effectively.
- Represent Reynoldsburg City Schools on local, regional, and state educational committees.
- Serve as an ambassador for Reynoldsburg City Schools by promoting its mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others. Working Conditions - The employee in this position may experience occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. The employee may also be required to interact with unruly children. Occasionally required to work late hours or on weekends.
Driving Requirement - This position may require driving to various school sites or events.
