Position Overview:The Portsmouth School Department is seeking a skilled and dedicated full-time BCBA to support our middle and high school programs. This role involves providing behavioral consultation and intervention support to students across the schools as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with intensive and general behavioral needs.
  • Provide direct support, coaching, and consultation to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff.
  • Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based behavioral interventions and supports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop IEP goals related to behavior and social-emotional functioning.
  • Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform decision-making and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Provide training to staff on behavior management strategies, data collection, and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Attend IEP meetings, team meetings, and consultation sessions as needed.
  • Support the development of positive behavior support systems within intensive needs classrooms and the broader school environment.
  • Ensure all services provided are in compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Experience working in public school settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and effectively in a team-based environment.
Schedule:
  • 5 days per week during the school year. This is a full time position.
  • Potential additional consultation during Extended School Year (ESY) services if needed.
