POSITION TITLE: Occupational Therapist

ASSIGNMENT: Occupational Therapist

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution as determined by the Florida Department of EducationLicensed by the State of Florida as an Occupational TherapistPhysical Requirements: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objectsSatisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree from an accredited educational institution as determined by the Florida Department of Education

PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide an individually planned program of educationally relevant therapy for students receiving Exceptional Student Education ServicesTo conduct functional assessments in the classroom settingTo work effectively and collaboratively with other educational team members in developing integrated Individual Educational Plans for studentsTo participate and meet with the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) TeamMaintain and prepare periodic records as requiredAs an itinerant school therapist, develop a therapy schedule and manage time effectivelyManage materials and equipment effectivelyAssist in the preparation of annual departmental budgetAttend meetings and workshops to enhance professional development and continuing education when assigned by the administrators of Exceptional Student EducationMaintain and prepare reports needed for the Medicaid reimbursement program
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

All other duties as assigned by supervising administrator

TERM:

Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process

APPRAISAL:

Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board Policy

PAYGRADE:

According to the School Board of Highlands County Instructional Salary Schedule
