Anderson School District 3 is seeking a School Secretary for Crescent High School who is organized, personable, and committed to providing exceptional service to our students, families, staff, and community. This position serves as the welcoming face of the school while supporting the daily operations of the front office through strong communication, attention to detail, and a dedication to excellence that reflects our district's Pride, Purpose, and Passion.

Essential Duties:

- Serves as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, providing courteous, professional, and responsive customer service.
- Greets and assists visitors while maintaining school safety and following district visitor management procedures.
- Answers, screens, and directs incoming telephone calls and responds to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties, including preparing correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents.
- Maintains accurate student records, files, and confidential information in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.
- Assists with student attendance, enrollment, withdrawals, and other student information processes as assigned.
- Coordinates office operations by managing calendars, scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
- Utilizes word processing equipment to prepare general correspondence, memorandums, reports, purchase orders, etc.
- Receives, sorts, and distributes mail, deliveries, and other communications.
- Maintains office supplies and instructional materials by monitoring inventory and coordinating orders as needed.
- Assists administrators, faculty, and staff with a variety of projects, reports, and operational needs to support the efficient functioning of the school.
- Utilizes district technology systems and office software to maintain records, prepare documents, and complete assigned responsibilities accurately.
- Maintains records and generates appropriate reports;
- Maintains confidentiality while exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in all matters involving students, employees, and the public.
- Supports school activities, special events, and other programs by providing organizational and administrative assistance as needed.
- Maintains filing system as required by supervisor;
- Operates standard office equipment, word-processing and data processing equipment, copiers, laminators, etc.;
- Attends in-service training to improve skills and knowledge of job expertise;
- Maintains and respects the confidentiality of student and office-related information;
- Attends in-service training to improve skills and knowledge of office work;
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities;
- Complies with and supports school and division regulations and policies;
- Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities;
- Performs related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in accordance with the school/policies and practices.

Qualifications

Education:
- Two Year Associates Degree or
- 60 Hours of College Coursework or
- Paraprofessional Assessment Test

Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm, adaptable, and service-oriented in a busy school environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as a member of the school and district team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school administrators, district office staff, vendors, and the public.

Experience:
- Prior secretarial experience preferred (school or public sector).

REPORTS TO: Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 210 days

SALARY: Secretary Salary Schedule (Posted Online)

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal.

JOB TYPE: Full-time
