Serving Maine's Midcoast communities of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham, MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.

MSAD 75 is seeking a Gifted & Talented Consulting Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide program coordination, under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent.
  • Identify gifted and talented students in accordance with District procedures and State rules.
  • Ensure that identified students are provided: 1) work at an appropriate level in the student's area of strength, 2) time to work with intellectual peers, and 3) resources, guidance and information regarding opportunities during and beyond the school day.
  • Prepare, develop and successfully submit all documentation (including an annual program application) as required by the Maine Department of Education.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with principals and teachers to ensure that the identified needs of gifted and talented students in the District are met.
  • Notify affected parties of the results of the identification/annual review.
  • Oversee and case-manage all programming for identified students.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate, accessible records and data for the annual identification/review process.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate, accessible records and data for K-12 case management.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate, accessible informational resources for identified students and their families regarding opportunities during and beyond the school day.
  • Keep student cumulative records updated at each school to reflect current and past status.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
  • Valid State of Maine Department of Education Gifted/Talented PreK-12 (690) certification.

Pay transparency as required by Maine Law: The pay range for this position depends on years of experience and education level with a wide range of $51,087 - $107,609. To view the detailed payscale and benefits offered, please refer to the Contract between the MSAD 75 Board of Directors and the Merrymeeting Teacher Association.
