Qualifications:
- Completion of an approved program in School Social Work at the Bachelor's level or above
- Must hold, or be eligible to hold a license in School Social Work
- Must be willing to complete any requirements to obtain or maintain a North Carolina License in School Social Work within required time limit, in order to remain compliant with NCDPI's State Board Policy
- Experience preferred
- Conduct assessments of student needs
- Promote regular school attendance
- Conduct home visits
- Promote safe, caring and drug free schools
- Provide individual counseling
- Facilitate group counseling
- Conduct family needs assessments
- Act as a liaison with the court system
- Promote awareness of substance and child abuse
- Other duties as assigned by Superintendent, Principal, or Designee
- Act as the representative for homeless students within the district and provide required services to those students
