The job of a Special Program Paraeducator - Special Education is done for the purpose/s of conducting various
tasks/interventions to assist students with varying degrees of disabilities to meet their individual education plan goals and
objectives under the supervision of a Special Education Teacher.
Retirement - Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance/Long Term Disability benefits!
30 hours per week!
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have an Associate's Degree OR 48 semester/72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university; OR
passing score of 461 on the ParaPro Assessment. We can arrange for the ParaPro Assessment if needed.
- Experience in a special education classroom setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of programs and services for students with disabilities.
- Ability to work with other staff in a variety of circumstances.
Employment Requirements:
1. Successful completion of criminal history and fingerprint check through Washington State Patrol and FBI.
2. Participation in Union, WEA/ESP
3. Safe Schools training upon hire
4. Must possess a valid first aid card (or obtain one upon employment) and be willing to keep the card current.
5. Valid driver's license may be required if assigned to HS Life Skills pro
6. Right Response Training is required with ongoing refreshers
