Job Description The School Nutrition Worker is responsible for the following:
- All assigned aspects of meal production, service, sanitation, and safety.
- Prepare food for meal service following the menu, using standardized recipes
- Operate equipment in a safe manner (equipment includes, but is not limited to: convection ovens, steamers, steam-jacketed kettles, steam tables, tilting skillets, microwave ovens, ranges, slicers, and can openers)
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines:
- Use proper food handling techniques
- Serve meals to students and staff
- Refill serving line as needed between lunches
- Assist in end-of-day clean up, including but not limited to: washing/sanitizing pots, pans, dishes, silverware, tables, and all other equipment as necessary
- Manage cash drawer. Accurately count and record cash total each day.
- Interact professionally and courteously with the students and staff. Report any problems to the Kitchen Manager.
