Job Description Qualifications:Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
Hold and maintain a valid driver's license with no serious violations.
Have previous experience as a glazier.
Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
Cut glass or similar material to size for various installations.
Scrape putty from frames.
Set glass in metal or wooden sash with glazier's points or metal clips.
Apply putty.
Remove caps from skylights and sets in new glass after preparing bed of putty.
Putty and replace caps.
Cut and set window or skylight glass.
Cement glass panes or similar materials into sash with putty and putty knife.
Fasten by clips into puttyless steel skylight sash.
Cut, fit, and fasten glass or similar material into doors.
Cut desired size part, using straightedge and glasscutter.
Drive glazier's points into frame to hold it in place and press and smooth colored putty into joint,or nail strips of molding in place.
Use computers and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions.
Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, and an effective work ethic.
Protect confidentiality of records and information about staff, and use discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines.
Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings.
Display the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
Adhere to New Jersey school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, State and local health agency requirements, Board of Education policies and regulations, school regulations and procedures, and contractual obligations.
Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by their supervisor and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
